Stanley Park, Vancouver

If you are traveling to Vancouver anytime soon you must know that Stanley park is definitely a must see. It is a beautiful site created at about 400 hectares of area and is located exactly at the edge of Vancouver's downtown core. This amazing evergreen haven is rich with fir trees, hemlock and amazing cedar. There is also an 8.8KM seawall that tends to surround the perimeter of the Stanley Park most beautifully and certainly can be used well for biking, jogging, rollerblading and much of the leisure activities. The forested affect makes the park worth visiting and no one can resist exploring it more and more.

If you are interested to know about the history of the Stanley Park through a quick review let me tell you that initially the area of the Stanley Park was a traditional territory of several Coast Salishers. The most popular tribes like musqueam and squamish had several of their villages located in the park, even at that time it was considered as a resourceful park to get cedar tress for the purpose of building log houses and maybe canoes too. Later in 1886 when a committee was formed to oversee all parks and recreational matters it was then that Stanley Park was born and named after the then governor Lord Stanley. It is just amazing that how in such little of a time the park has managed to achieve unmatchable popularity. It may come as a surprise to you but today Stanley Park is considered as one of the largest urban core parks.

Through a rough estimate it has been found that each year nearly 8 millions people actually visit the Stanley Park to enjoy their time being engaged in some of the most entertaining family activities. People love to enjoy the magnificent beauty of the north shore mountain that can be perfectly viewed from the seawall while getting their health walk. If you love to cycle, jog or roller skate you will actually find this seawall path the best for any of these activities.

If you are the ones with the kids, let me assure you that when it comes to Stanley Park they will certainly have the time of their live since there are several facilities that the park offers specially to the kids which include the children's farmhouse, playground, Second Beach Pool and the Water Park. Not only this but Stanley Park is also famous for the miniature train ride and the Vancouver aquarium both of these adventures seem to fascinate the young ones and even the adults just too much. For adults and families Stanley Park offers several sites where they can enjoy group barbeque or family picnics and have fun all day.

In short Stanley Park is the best tourist interest location from all aspects. For an outing with family and friends you can have a great time site seeing and enjoying other leisure activities. I think it's a great start for a day at the Stanley Park and this certainly is not something that can be missed.
